I have several old shirts of this model, and this one performs as well in terms of cold, etc. However, for the first time ever, the sleeve stitching on one sleeve is unravelling.
This outstanding top blends our two fabulous Zone 3 fabrics, 3SP® and SwiftPro™ for unbeatable performance and plenty of reflectivity. The 3SP® on the front and arms blocks the wind up to 35 mph and dries faster than any fabric on the planet. Soft, comfortable quick-wicking SwiftPro™ is found under the arms and on the back to help regulate temperature. It has a 13-inch reflective front zipper, reflective tape on key seams, and a large back zippered pocket. Great for nordic skiing, cycling, running, and hiking. Simply said, we think it's the best technical winter top available for aerobic athletes. Windproof up to 35 mph. *Note: We recommend that you wash garments with 3SP fabric inside out to protect the outer surface. Hang dry, do not put in the clothes dryer.
3SP® (76% polypropylene, 13% polyester, 11% spandex); SwiftDry™ SwiftPro™ (92% polyester, 8% spandex)

For temps 35° or below this is my go to top. Keeps me warm and dry even during hard workouts. I haven't found anything else like it.
This is exactly what was advertised, quality is top notch, and as with all the other sport Hill products, I have purchased, I suspect it will last 20 years. Editors note: This review was originally posted for the women's Lighthouse Jacket which is the same fabric and construction as the men's version.
This top exceeds all expectations in my Sporthill lineup!!! Yes, I am a Sporthill addict and love the way they design their outdoor clothing. This XC top compliments my XC pants nicely and performs beautifully in the colder and windier days. The fit is spot on!!
I have a recent edition of this top that I cycle in the winter in and cross country ski. I like the added pocket for my cell phone, water bottle and energy bars. I usually wear a temp tech tee or summer lite tee from Sporthill underneath it. It has worked great for me from temperatures from 35f down to 15F. It's been a nice addition to the xc pants and winter fit pants out of the same fabric
Very disappointing. Did a 5 mile run this morning in 30 degree weather and was chilled the entire run. Even had a smart wool tee on underneath and an old Sport Hill vest over the top. This is at best a Zone 2 top and is not as advertised. I am sending this back for a refund. First time I have ever sent something back to Sport Hill. Best Regards, Steve Birkeland.
Could not be happier with this top. Use it mostly for cycling (road and gravel) in the VA winter. I still have my original 3SP XC top I bought over 12 years ago (really like amortizing the purchase price over this amount of time!). You can't go wrong with this top.
I replaced my 20 year old original 3sp top. I love the new one more than the old one. The old one was great at keeping out the wind and keeping me warm on cold xc ski days. But the sleeves were narrow, chest tight, forcing me into an XL. At the time I was 185-190lbs at 5 ft 9 in. Clearly the top was not made for someone of my build, 42inch chest, 32 inch waist and 15+” arms. The new one is. At 65 yrs old it’s I’m down to 165-170lbs but body dims have not changed, other than an inch smaller waist. So now I’m in a medium which fits perfect and has plenty of arm space for base layers. Love the top and love the new colorful back panel. Also love the softer fabric, no longer attracts dog hair which would get interwoven into the old style jerseys fabric. A very much improved 3sp Jersey!
This is the best piece of winter gear that I own. I use it to run and cycle in during winter months. We live in Houston but in the past 2 weeks I have run with it in Montana and Colorado. It is not bulky, it is form fitting and with another long sleeve tech shirt under it I have been out in 20 degree weather with no issues. I recently purchased a 2nd one so as not to wear them out. I highly recommend this top.
My brother-in-law gave me one of these for Christmas 15 years ago. I wore it, by itself, alone, when it was 10 below zero. With a hat, facemask, long underwear, sweat pants, and a little Vaseline around my eyes and nose, I came back only a little cold on the sides of my belly. I’ve worn it, alone (no layers, no undershirt) and kept warm, even in the cold wind, -running through 15 winters, but finally rubbed a hole just below my armpit, where my arm rubs. The design’s changed a little, but I’m thrilled that I’m able to replace it with another of these great shirts! Highly recommended. The only running shirt you’ll ever need!
